Sling Bag / Backpack

We can’t recommend having a backpack or sling back strongly enough. Trust us when we say that carrying your stuff around Disney World without a bag is the worst. We’ve done it and regret it. Folks, a fanny pack just won’t cut it. A go-to for us are Loungefly bags and the Adidas Imported String Bag. Our pro tip is to have a bag that allows you to carry your junk without getting bogged down. Smaller is sometimes better.

Refillable Water Bottle

Having a water bottle on-hand at Disney World is beyond useful. First of all, paying for water is not the smartest move and we believe it’s better to save money where you can. You can fill up water in QSR stands, water fountains, and even designated water-filling stations. The last thing you want is to get caught in the heat without some water. Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. Any old one will do the trick. However, we really enjoy refillable Gatorade Gx Hydration System bottles. One nice things about these bottles are that you can purchase additional Gatorade pods with flavors to add an extra spark.

Snacks

Dining in Disney World can get wildly expensive. Even snacking at Disney World can cost a pretty penny. If you’ve brought your backpack with you were recommend bringing nutrition bars, gummy treats, crackers, etc. The effect of one quick snack warns off the desire to pick up a $10 snack someplace. Maybe save your dollars for elsewhere or for something you really want.

Battery Pack

Without a doubt you’re going to be on your phone a lot during a Disney World day. Don’t miss out on those precious family moments or Insta-worthy snaps due to a dead battery. You can get a pretty simple pack like the Ekrist pack on Amazon. These don’t cost a ton of money and can be lifesavers.

Panchos

If you’ve been to Disney World even one time, you know heavy rain can come at anytime — seemingly out of nowhere. Don’t get caught in the rain (literally). Instead of spending a ton of money on a last minute Pancho, have one on-hand instead. Besides, waiting last minute leaves you vulnerable to being wet before you have the chance to put one on.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is a must when in the summer heat. It’s nearly impossible to avoid the sun during a Disney World excursion. Even getting from the bus to the front gate will leave you susceptible to the Florida sun rays. This one’s not too hard to follow. Apply an appropriate amount of sunscreen before leaving your hotel / resort and apply throughout the day as necessary. It also comes in handy while at the pool or hanging out in Disney Springs.

Aloe Vera

So you might not be as successful as preferred with your sunscreen application. So if you end up not seeing success with the sunscreen, it might be worth keeping some aloe vera on hand. Especially when you’re back at the hotel room and trying to get comfortable laying down.

Hand Sanitizer

If 2020-2021 taught us anything it is that washing your hands and sanitizing often is a must. A travel-size pack of hand sanitizer is a perfect way to keep your hands clean after shopping, riding attractions, or before eating. The great things about the travel-size options is that each person in your party can carry a pack.

Kleenex or Wet Wipes

Tissues are wet wipes are helpful for a trip to Disney World for a number of reasons. Similar to hand sanitizer, these are things easily picked up in the travel section on your local store. Wet wipes, while doing a lot of sanitizing and cleaning, can be a great way to clean up plastic cheese messes. You know they can happen.

Chapstick

We’ve said this before but we’ll say it one more time: Florida heat is brutal. If you’ve not kept up on daily hydration, it’s a smart move to have chapstick on hand. One way or another, you’re going to want do everything possible to stay comfortable during your trip. Chapsticks are a no brainer as they’re easily portable and convenient to have on-hand.

Body Glide

Body Glide is a fantastic innovation that, simply put, keeps you from chafing.  Interesting how nearly everything on this list for our Disney packing list revolves around beating the heat. Body Glide is also entirely portable and can easily fit in a backpack or sling bag. This is something that is not always necessary but when you need it you need it.

Cooling Towel

Finally, if you’re visiting Disney World during the summer months you might want to add a cooling towel to your Disney packing list. Cooling towel tech is great and extremely useful. Simply dampen and snap. Viola, you have a cool towel.

There you have it! Those are the top 12 things we recommending adding to your Disney packing list. Did we miss anything? Let us know in the comments below or send us a message.
