8 Ways to Celebrate May the 4th in Disney Parks
If you’re a Star Wars nerd like we are, you know that one of the best… ok, THE BEST holiday of the year is right around the corner: May the 4th.
May the 4th (aka Star Wars Day) is coming and we cannot wait. If you’re a huge Star Wars fan, you do it up every year. If you’re in a Disney Park on May the 4th, you’ll want to check out these 8 ways to celebrate May the 4th. Of course, a lot of these ideas involve being in Galaxy’s Edge, of course.
Note: If you’re thinking about spending May the 4th on the Galactic Starcruiser, bad news, it’s all booked.
Build a Lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop or Assemble a Droid
Building a lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop is a real treat and, even with the high price tag of $220, it’s a great way to celebrate May the 4th. If you want a cheaper option, for $100 less, you can build a Droid at the Droid Depot. You can also choose to upgrade your droid for an additional cost with a personality chip or accessories.
Ride Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
Nothing says Star Wars like Rise of the Resistance or piloting the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy! Celebrate May the 4th by hitting up both of these rides and tapping into your inner Jedi Knight. Or smuggler — no judgment here.
Order a Drink at Oga’s Cantina
Grab those reservations early and enjoy a drink or two at Oga’s Cantina! Maybe Star Wars day is the perfect excuse to get the Porg Mug, Endor Tiki Mug, or Rancor Teeth Beer Flight Board. Pro tip: Ask a cast member about specialty drinks or secret off-menu items.
Eat at Ronto Roasters, Docking Bay 7, or Kat Saka’s
There’s nothing better than a Ronto Wrap in the morning. Heck, there’s nothing better than a Ronto Wrap anytime. Stopping by Ronto Roasters, Docking Bay 7, or Kat Saka’s are great ways to enjoy and celebrate May the 4th.
Buy Yourself a Star Wars Souvenir
Maybe you’ve been eyeing up that one special Star Wars souvenir. A Legacy Lightsaber, remote control droid, sweatshirt, or the LEGO Millennium Falcon. Go ahead, treat yourself.
Enjoy a Thermal Detonator Coke
We love the little Coca-Cola beauties! When you’re at the parks there’s nothing more refreshing than a Coke or Sprite. Plus, when they come from a thermal detonator they somehow taste even better.
Opt in For a Photoshoot
There are Star Wars references throughout all of Disney World and Disneyland Parks. There are a ton of different options for Photopass opportunities including a Magic Photo with Grogu / Baby Yoda. It’s so fun to get photos in front of the Millennium Falcon, with Chewbacca, or of all the fine little details throughout Galaxy’s Edge.
Other great photo spots are the BB-8 and R2-D2 statues for the Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration and the impressive LEGO statues in Disney Springs. What are some of your favorite Star Wars photo opportunities.
Get in Line For Star Tours Over and Over and Over Again
Star Tours is a great ride. It’s truly a classic. Here’s the thing with Star Tours, though, there are 54 variations of the ride. Yes, 54! This is one of those rides you can get in line for over and over again and have a completely different experience every single time.
