Our Top Hersheypark Roller Coaster Picks
One of our favorite things about Hersheypark in Pennsylvania is the incredible amount of thrill rides they offer. Excluding other thrill rides, the Hersheypark roller coaster count comes in at 15. That’s for real. From mild to wild, the whole family can experience some great rides.
Candymonium
The great Candymonium is one of Hersheyparks newest coasters. Described as an “aggressive thrill ride,” this coaster tops out at 76 MPH and is over 210 ft. Candymonium is the tallest and fastest Hersheypark Roller Coaster. While riding this coaster, you’ll experience great thrills and equally impressive views of the theme park.
Great Bear
There are not many coasters as iconic as Great Bear. This Hersheypark roller coaster is a guest favorite that dangles your feet through inverted corkscrews, twists, and turns. The name Great Bear comes from the roaring sound this coaster makes while riding through the trees and over the water.
Fahrenheit
Fahrenheit is just one of those rides you have to love. This quick minute and a half soars through the park at 58 MPH and drops you at 97 degree angle from a 121-foot drop. The familiar loops, drops, and corkscrews will guarantee a great time.
Laff Trakk
Laff Trakk is reminiscent of the old school fun houses with a 21st century feel. A little over 1-minute in ride time, this ride only goes 40 MPH and is 51 ft high. However, don’t let the short-run time and max speed fool you — the thrills this ride offers are some of the best Hersheypark has to offer. Laff Trakk is the first indoor, spinning, glow-coaster in the west. Don’t miss this fun attraction.
Lightning Racer
The Lightning Racer is a Hersheypark roller coaster that is a cannot miss. Race as either thunder or lightning and experience what is actually the first wooden racing/dueling roller coaster in the states. As a wooden coaster, soaring at 50 MPH feels a whole lot faster than it reads. The rickety and rough ride is a thrill with a bit of friendly competition.
Skyrush
If you feel intimated by Skyrush you are not alone. At 75 MPH with a 200 foot (zero-G) drop, this Hersheypark roller coaster is no joke. Even though Skyrush is just over 1-minute in ride time, you will still experience a total rush in the winged-seat coaster train.
Wildcat
What’s more classic than a wooden roller coaster? Hersheypark answers that question with the Wildcat. Barreling over bumps and hills, this 48 MPH coaster takes you back in time with a fun and unforgettable experience.
