The Disney Wish is Set to Sail – Here’s What You Need to Know

The newest Disney cruise vessel, the Disney Wish, has its sights set on sailing and we’ve been given a first look at this marvel.

Christened at Port Canaveral just this week, the Disney Wish is the fifth ship in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. This ship is one-of-a-kind with a first of its kind onboard rides. There’s also an Avengers style dinner and an immersive Star Wars Lounge with a $5,000 drink (come on Disney).

Setting sail on July 14th, the Disney Wish boasts the AquaMouse, Disney’s first ride on a cruise ship. What we know about the AquaMouse so far is that it looks like a run in the mill waterslide but it contains a pre show featuring two Mickey Mouse cartoons.

The 760-foot slide contains lighting, audio, water effects, and more. Each ride can hold up to two guests in a “vehicle.”

Immersive Dining in Arendelle and Wakanda

Keeping with Disney’s desire to push storytelling to the limit, dining has become even more unique, allowing guests to join in the action. Cruise goers will experience a Frozen-themed banquet and a Marvel-inspired restaurant featuring the Avengers. Fortunately, both of these dining experiences are included in your cruise package.

If, however, you would prefer to dine in silence, there are three adults only options. The Rose Lounge, Palo Steakhouse, and Enchanté.

What Else is Going On

With the launch of the Galactic Starcruiser, Disney is really leaning into the idea of using your phone as part of the experience. Like we said before, they are getting really into the idea of storytelling as a means of hosting guests.

The new Disney Uncharted Adventure offers guests an interactive story with the use of AR. With the app you will follow along with Peter Pan, Moana, Finding Nemo, and others as you create your own quest. Essentially you’re in an open world cruise ship.

While it is not quite as immersive as the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser, you’re still fairly reliant on your devices to enjoy the experience. Fortunately, however, this app allows you to book shows, see your personalized schedule, and set up reminders for ship activities.

How Much Does the Disney Wish Cost?

To enjoy the Disney Wish for 3-nights, two guests will pay $1,751. An ocean-view room will cost $1,925. A verandah room starts at $2,153 and a concierge room costs $4,313.

If you are looking to enjoy a 4-night cruise is priced from $2,243 for an inside room for two adults, $2,507 for an ocean-view room, $2,803 for a verandah room and $5,843 for a concierge room.

If you want to enjoy a cruise, you can book Disney cruises online.
